Sonic Nomads Terms of Use (End User License Agreement)
Effective date: October 16, 2026 · Last updated: September 28, 2026
These Terms of Use (the "Terms") govern your use of the Sonic Nomads mobile application and related services (the "Service") provided by Transients Co., Ltd. ("Transients," "we," "us," or "our"). By tapping "Agree" and creating an account or logging in, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users
Sonic Nomads has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. You may not upload, post, or share content, or behave in a way, that is:
- sexually explicit, pornographic, or exploits or endangers minors;
- hateful, discriminatory, or harassing toward any person or group, including on the basis of race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or age;
- violent, threatening, or promoting self-harm, terrorism, or illegal activity;
- defamatory, bullying, or intended to intimidate or humiliate another person;
- infringing on another person's copyright, privacy, publicity, or other rights, including recordings of private conversations made without consent;
- spam, scams, malware, or misleading content.
We may remove any content that violates these Terms and suspend or permanently terminate the accounts of users who post it or who abuse other users, without prior notice.
2. Reporting and blocking
- Report content: Every sound (recording) and user profile in the app has a Report option. You can report content that you believe violates these Terms.
- Block users: You can block any user. Once blocked, that user's content is removed from your feed and map, and they can no longer interact with you or your content.
- Our response: We review reports within 24 hours. When content violates these Terms, we remove it and take action against the user who posted it, up to and including permanent removal from the Service.
- To contact us about a report, email jo@transients.kr.
3. Eligibility and accounts
- You create an account by logging in with Kakao, Google, or Apple. You must be old enough to hold an account with that provider.
- You must be at least 14 years old to use the Service. If we learn that a user is under 14, we may delete the account.
- You are responsible for activity on your account and must not use another person's account or login credentials. Notify us immediately if your account is used without your permission.
4. The Service
Sonic Nomads lets users record, upload, geotag, play, like, and explore sounds on a map. We may add, change, or discontinue features, and may temporarily suspend the Service for maintenance, outages, or reasons beyond our control (including interruptions by hosting or login providers).
5. Your content
- You keep the copyright and other rights in the recordings and other content you upload ("Your Content").
- You grant Transients a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, reproduce, transmit, display, play, and adapt (for example, convert formats) Your Content only as needed to operate, provide, improve, and promote the Service.
- Any use beyond operating the Service — such as festival archives, exhibitions, broadcasts, or commercial secondary use — requires your separate prior consent.
- You confirm that Your Content does not infringe the rights of others, and that you have the consent of any identifiable person whose voice or private conversation is included.
- Your Content may be visible to other users, including the location where it was recorded if you choose to geotag it.
6. Prohibited conduct
In addition to Section 1, you must not: use another person's identity or account; interfere with or disrupt the Service; scrape or collect data by automated means; reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the app; use the Service for commercial purposes without our consent; or violate any applicable law.
7. Our intellectual property
The app, its software, design, trademarks, and compilations belong to Transients. You may not copy, distribute, or make them available to others without our prior consent.
8. Suspension, termination, and account deletion
- You may delete your account at any time from the in-app Delete Account menu. Your Content linked to your account will be deleted, as described in the Privacy Policy.
- We may restrict, suspend, or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or applicable law. For serious violations (including those in Section 1), we may do so immediately and without prior notice.
9. License to use the app; Apple terms
- We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on devices you own or control, for personal, non-commercial use, in accordance with these Terms.
- If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store: these Terms are between you and Transients, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app, its content, maintenance, support, or any claims relating to it, and has no warranty obligations beyond those required by law. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. Your use of the app must also comply with the App Store Terms of Service.
10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
- The Service is provided "as is." We do not guarantee the accuracy or reliability of content posted by users, and we are not responsible for disputes between users or between users and third parties.
- We are not liable for failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, by your own fault, or by third-party services (hosting, login providers, carriers).
- To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damages arising from a free Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We will notify you in the app at least 7 days before changes take effect (30 days for changes that are material or unfavorable to you). If you continue to use the Service after the effective date, you accept the updated Terms; if you do not agree, you may delete your account.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Disputes will be brought before the competent court under the Korean Civil Procedure Act.
